Black Dune Studio Triumphs in EWC Tunisia Finals

TUNIS, TUNISIA – Black Dune Studio, a virtual reality studio in the fields of healthcare and education, captured first prize at the national finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup competition held recently in Tunisia.

With the win, Mohamed Bouabidi, founder of Black Dune Studio, advances to the next round of the global competition against national winners from 184 countries.

“Medical training experience suffers from many issues, like patient safety, economic disadvantages and the availability of teachers,” said Bouabidi. “Our Solution is a Virtual Reality modules package that covers different aspects of medical training.”

Throughout August, Bouabidi will participate in an acceleration program which features virtual training and one-to-one mentoring with international mentors to prepare for the EWC Global Finals which will be held in Riyadh on November 12-14, 2019.

Black Dune Studio emerged victorious from a pool of 128 contestants – each receiving access to free virtual training services to help them take their venture to the next level.

 Other finalists at EWC Tunisia included:

  • Fabskill, an AI-powered recruiting platform
  • Alien Dimension, an educational Augmented Reality application
  • Vsober, a virtual reality anti-distraction application for kids

More than 102,000 contestants from 184 countries entered the Entrepreneurship World Cup. The initiative combines a broad-reaching pitch competition, aimed at ventures ranging from the idea stage to growth stage, with a virtual accelerator program to help all participants launch, strengthen and scale their enterprises. Global Finalists will face off against one another at the Misk Global Forum ahead of Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2019.

EWC is an initiative led by the Global Entrepreneurship Network and Misk Foundation with support from a collection of a national and global partnerships,  including the Global Educational and Leadership Foundation and GSVlabs.
