In an earlier EWC Accelerates session, Etienne Gillard shared his tips on: Learning From Failure.

Etienne Gillard is a multicultural solutions-focused senior executive and consultant with more than 25 years of success across the financial services, professional development and training industries. Etienne is an entrepreneur, mentor and expert in executive coaching, product development, team building and sales.

‘Learning from Failure’ workshop is an overview of all of the challenges or as Gillard says, “opportunities to grow,” that any entrepreneur might face throughout their entrepreneurial journey.

He began the workshop highlighting the fact that every entrepreneurs’ journey is filled with both ups and downs; and it will always require resilience.

He then discussed the 20 most frequently given reasons for a company’s failure which encompass company culture, leadership, stakeholder relationships, team building and marketing.

As he concluded, Gillard emphasized on the importance for every startup to

  • Identify the market problem they are actually solving with their product or service and
  • Take the time to do the pre-mortem analysis.

Those tuned in to EWC Accelerates sessions have the opportunity to ask leaders in the field questions, make comments and interact with fellow EWC competitors.
